We believe in these unalienable rights: the right to good workshops; the right to reasonably good documentation; and the right to good monospaced fonts. It is with these ideals that we establish the following rules. .\"so examples/Constitution.txt .sp .ft S Membership: .ft To be a member of the Computer Science Club is to attend the meetings by voluntary action. Though various contact methods may bring us together, it is shared experience that binds us. .sp .ft S O\&f\&fice: .ft We are a group of people who get together and talk about computers. Programmers are creatives, they make things, and they naturally avoid confrontation and beaureaucracy. That's not to say that sitting at a keyboard for six hours a day does that to somebody; but, the activity does draw individuals with that personality. .de pg . ti +1m .. .pg Our government consists of a few people who've known each-other for months. We listen to each other, and authoritative decisions are rarely made. When they are made, they are by the President. Elections do not happen. Officers volunteer to take a position, the President approves, and so long as they continue their kind, voluntary work, they keep the position. Getting people to do free work at all is hard enough as it is, elections would slow the process. If elections do become necessary, simple majority wins. .pg AP 5400, a scripture that hath been burned into blessed memory, specifies in section 7.e a limitation on the duration of an executive officer's position. Such an officer is limited to two terms. We understand an executive officer to be someone who is President or Vice President. We understand a term to be four years, as it is ordained for the President of these United States of America. .sp .ft S Legalese: .ft In the spirit of Administrative Procedure 5400 regarding the Associated Students Organizations and Guidelines for Student Clubs and Organizations, we shall comply with all 9⅓ pages of rules and regulations. This constitution may be amended and revised as deemed appropriate by the current members of office. Though there are no by-laws at the time of writing, as needed, they will be written, and amended to this document. .ft S Fiscal Worries: .ft As the Computer Science Club ages, its agency increases. We increasingly attend events outside of Mesa, and strive to host them ourselves. Nice things cost money. Money comes with problems; and so this document becomes necessary. The Treasurer is required to have read and understood the informal Club Finances Guidelines. When there is doubt, the Sweet and Gracious AP5400 is to be sought. Fundraisers will follow all rules specified in Section 6.d. .ft S .sp .ft S Signatures:
